Visa Process and Requirements
Tourist Visa
A Visitor’s Visa is issued to persons travelling to Guyana for Vacation, Tourism, Meetings, Workshops, Seminars, Events, Religious Functions, Site Visits to Companies, Conducting Training, spearheading maintenance of machinery purchased from Foreign Countries, for short periods of time, i.e., three (3) months or less.
The following documents are required to be submitted:
Two duly completed visa application forms with two recent passport-size photographs of the applicant.
A covering letter
Valid passport (at least 6 months' validity). Passport data pages should be photocopied.
Evidence of funds available to the applicant for the duration of the visit. The statement should be stamped and signed by the Bank.
Letter of invitation from Guyana (if available).
Flight Itinerary.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
Hotel Reservation.
Business Visa
The Business Visa is issued to persons who are coming to Guyana for business purposes, such as to attend meetings or train staff in the use of the machinery purchased from foreign countries. Overseas Missionaries coming to Guyana for voluntary services are also issued with Business Visa.
The following documents are required to be submitted:
Two duly completed visa application forms with two recent passport-size photographs of the applicant.
A covering letter
Valid passport (at least 6 months' validity). Passport data pages should be photocopied.
Evidence of funds available to the applicant for the duration of the visit. The statement should be stamped and signed by the Bank.
A Letter from Place of Employment (stamped and signed by Employer).
A Letter of Invitation and Certificate of Registration from the Guyanese Company.
Flight Itinerary.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.

Student Visa
Students desirous of studying at any university in Guyana are issued a Student Visa. For foreign nationals residing and working in Guyana or who own a business and are bringing their child or children to remain with them throughout the duration of their stay, the child or children is/are issued with Student Visa once he/she is of age to attend school.
The following documents are required to be submitted:
Two completed visa application forms with two recent passport-size photographs of the applicant.
A cover letter
Valid passport (at least 6 months' validity). Passport data pages should be photocopied.
Evidence of funds available to the applicant for the duration of the visit. The statement should be stamped and signed by the Bank.
Letter of Acceptance from the University.
Flight Itinerary.
Educational Certificates (must be attested by the relevant Indian authorities).
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
Hotel Reservation.
Important Note for All
1. Applicants would be invited to an interview with a Consular Officer when it is required.
2. There is no guarantee that a visa would be issued, and any preparation or plan made for the journey would be done at the applicant’s own risk.
3. Failure to complete the form properly, as well as to provide supporting documents, will delay the processing of the application/rejection of a visa.
4. Application for visas should be submitted at least three (3) weeks in advance of the proposed date of travel.
5. The granting of a visa does not necessarily guarantee entry into Guyana. Entry and length of stay in the country will depend upon satisfying the usual immigration requirements/procedures at the port of entry.
6. Prepaid arrangements must be made by the applicant if the passport is to be returned by a courier service.
7. A visitor who, without permission, breaches his/her condition of entry while in Guyana may become eligible for deportation.
Visa Forms
